There are 2 positions open for a licensed clinical social worker (LICSW) in Outpatient Adult Medical Oncology. The employees in these positions will work with the oncology team to integrate social work into the medical oncology practice. Key skills needed include strong communication skills, ability to work with a team and ability to take initiative in new situations .
Collaborates with multidisciplinary teams, provides psychotherapy, coordinates patient discharge planning, complies with required standards for medical/legal responsibilities, and serves as a resource to other allied and administrative staff within the section of Social Work and the Department of Nursing.
Social worker with current licensure at the clinical level and eligible to practice independently. An MSW degree is also required from an accredited social Work program.
Candidates must have an advanced knowledge of mental illness, personality development, knowledge of the types of treatment, and skills in conducting individual, group, and family therapy. Must have knowledge of adjustment to medical diagnosis’ and chronic disease. Strong communication skills are needed to interact with patients, patient’s family members, multi-disciplinary team, community agencies, and other resources. Must also have psychosocial diagnostic skills and the ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and in written form.
License or certification
Licensure to practice independently at the clinical level as required by applicable state requirements.Valid driver’s license required for specific areas.
Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum salary every 2 weeks is approx $2,444.00, based on a full-time position.
There is a possibility of working some weekends.
