We seek a highly committed and talented School Social Worker to be part of our Home Office Team.
The School Social Worker provides a full range of school social work services to children grades K-12 at Foundation Academies. Duties include screening and assessment, individual and group counseling, completing Functional Behavior Assessments, working with outside agencies as appropriate, or other duties as assigned by manager. The School Social Worker will be an integral member of the Child Study Team to determine students' eligibility for special education services, coordinate appropriate programming, and recommend strategies and supports for educational, academic, and behavioral needs.
Determine individual and group services for children according to the services outlined in their IEP or 504 plan that emphasize improved educational performance and/or conduct.
Screen and evaluate children referred for special education services, including selecting appropriate instruments, administering assessments, conducting classroom observations, and writing reports which state the evaluation findings and provide for educational program recommendations.
Participate as a member of the Child Study Team, contributing evaluation findings and collaborating with all members of the team to develop high quality educational plans
Collaborating with school special education and general education staff around special education programming, Child Study Team Meetings, and student progress for students with IEPs.
Consult with parents, teachers, and other staff regarding any accommodations/modifications, behavior intervention, and support plans as needed for a specific child.
Maintain appropriate data on students, including present levels of performance and intervention strategies.
Establish and manage necessary caseloads (school social worker should case manage half of K-12 caseload) and work with schools, staff and parents to schedule and prepare for identification, annual review, and tri-annual review meetings.
Submit records, reports, and assignments promptly and efficiently, maintaining 100% compliance status.
Manage, conduct, and support special and general education teachers with the completion and implementation of Functional Behavior Assessments and Behavior Support Plans.
Perform other duties as assigned by principal/manager.about student progress

Master's in Social Work - MSW (required)
Ability to manage caseload and maintain compliance with federal and state special education laws (required)
Knowledge of NJ Special Education Code (required)
Ability to provide model of a completed Functional Behavior Assessment and Behavior Intervention Plan (required)
Training in Play Therapy (preferred)
Training in Social Thinking Curriculum (preferred)
Training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (preferred)
Demonstrated success in raising the social/emotional levels of traditionally under-served students (preferred)
Semifinalist candidates will be required to provide unofficial transcripts, evidence of certification/eligibility, and 3 professional references.
